Rubberizing
Rubberizing (gumming) is the process of applying an ebonite or rubber coating on metal surfaces to protect them from corrosion and other harmful effects, as well as to increase the adhesion of mechanisms that are coupled during the operation of the mechanisms. Typically, parts of industrial equipment such as drums, rollers, shafts or component parts such as textile or metal cord are gummed.
